As a new iPhone user, I immediately went on a mad hunt for all things Real Estate in the Apple App store. Quote me on this, I’m confident that a motivated REALTOR could run their entire business via Apple’s iPhone. But I digress…
Thanks to a tip from one of the area’s finest drummers, Douglas Rendleman, I searched for – and found – Peoria County’s new GIS Parcel Value iPhone App. Holy smokes. Peoria County hit it out of the park. The app is simple, like most great apps, not overloaded with bloat, but ingenious and a perfect fit for Apple’s app tools. Like so many other things, GIS info is best served mobile, while you’re at the property, and the County’s app seizes on this. The iPhone’s location services pinpoint your exact location and show you surrounding parcel values, or search for specific parcels by Parcel ID, Address or Subdivision or Condo Project name. Press on a parcel onscreen and useful fields of public record data appears, including assessments and taxable value.
So far, the app is only available for the iPhone.
